THE CREW WHO MAKES IT ALL HAPPEN

EVA GILLIAM

CO- FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

In addition to being an improviser, Eva Gilliam is a filmmaker, and multi-media consultant based in Cape Town, South Africa, and working across the African continent.  She started improv at Columbia University with the Six Milks on a fluke, and fell in love with the form immediately!

In 1996 she founded Bob's Family, a small troupe in Missoula, Montana.  In 2012 she joined The Long Shots Improvised Comedy Troupe in Cape Town, and has continued to play and promote improv in SA.

In 2016, Eva founded the Mama City Improv Festival with Canadian improviser and fabulous person, Ashley Comeau of Toronto's Lusty Mannequins.

TAMITH HATTINGH

PRODUCER

Tami likes to stick her fingers into many pies (gross!). First and fore most she’s an improviser, Actress and Voice Over Artist but has also found a love for behind the scenes work in various production roles (Cast Coordinator & Assistant Director) for commercials/film/theatre and of course producing MCIF 2017!

Tami is also more a fan of point form than essays, hence the following:

·Born and Bred in Pretoria, South Africa. Moved to Cape Town in 2015.

·2010 Graduated with a degree in Drama Studies from Tshwane University of Technology, specializing in physical theatre and script writing. She is also a qualified pilates instructor.

·Began her improv career in 2013. After moving to Cape Town she joined The Long Shots improv troupe with whom she performs and teaches regularly.

·Tami is the most punctual person you will ever meet, however she is trying to become more laid back and will from time to time arrive 10 minutes early to any occasion as opposed to the usual 15-30 minutes.

CO- FOUNDER, CO-PRODUCER, Co-Meau

Ashley Comeau is an actor/improviser, producer, writer and instructor based out of Toronto, Canada. She's been improvising for the better part of 18 years - from her early days with the Canadian Improv Games, to her tenure on the Second City Toronto Mainstage, to today where she travels the world teaching, performing and promoting all things improv.

In 2007 she and her partner Connor Thompson (also a Second City alumni), formed The Lusty Mannequins and in 2015 they invited their friends Karen Parker (also a Second City alumni) and Alastair Forbes (also a Second City Alumni) to join to create The Lusty Mannequins and Friends! In 2015 she was named Toronto's Best Female Improviser by Now Magazine's "Best Of" Awards and in 2016 Ashley was given one of her most cherished titles yet, the Head of Improv - Levels A-E at The Second City Training Centre in Toronto.

The Mama City Improv Festival was founded by Eva Gilliam (honestly, one of the best people Ashley knows!) and Ashley Comeau in 2016 and continues to grow with love and joy year after year!
